Environmental Monitoring

Environmental monitoring that sees excursions coming

Plan sampling by room and grade, collect samples on mobile devices, and see excursions and adverse trends on a live map of your facility.

Overview

Your contamination control strategy, in one live view

Environmental monitoring generates large volumes of routine data across rooms, locations, sample types and organisms. On paper or in spreadsheets, trends that matter are easy to miss until they become excursions, and excursions turn into batch impact assessments.

HDLIMS Environmental Monitoring connects sampling plans, collection, incubation, reading, identification and trending. Data is visualized on floor plans and trended by room, grade, location and organism, supporting the data-driven contamination control strategy expected under EU GMP Annex 1.

What changes for your lab

Earlier warning

Adverse trends surface before they become action-level excursions and batch impact assessments.

Less manual effort

Mobile collection and automated scheduling remove paper forms, transcription and reconciliation.

Stronger contamination control

Consolidated data supports a defensible, data-driven contamination control strategy.

Capabilities

Core Environmental Monitoring capabilities

Sampling plans and schedules

Define plans by room, grade, location, method and frequency; generate daily sampling rounds automatically.

Facility maps

Place sampling locations on floor plans and see status, excursions and trends where they happen.

Mobile collection

Collect samples with tablets and barcode-labeled plates, recording time, operator and conditions at the point of sampling.

Incubation and reading

Track incubation stages, enforce timings and record counts and colony morphology.

Organism identification

Maintain an organism library and trend isolates by genus and species across your facility.

Utilities monitoring

Monitor water systems, compressed gases and clean steam alongside air and surface programs.

Excursion management

From excursion to impact assessment, without delay

Alert and action limits are defined per grade, location and sample type. Exceedances trigger notifications and investigations linked to the batches produced in the affected area.

  • Alert and action limits by room grade and sample type
  • Immediate notifications for action-level exceedances
  • Automatic investigation linked to impacted batches
  • Adverse trend rules beyond single-result excursions

Trending

Trends that inform your contamination control strategy

Trend counts and recovery rates by room, location, shift and organism to make evidence-based decisions about cleaning, gowning and sampling frequency.

  • Location and room trend charts with configurable rules
  • Organism trending and recurrence detection
  • Periodic EM summary reports for quality review
  • Data exports for contamination control strategy reviews

FAQ

Environmental Monitoring: frequently asked questions

Does HDLIMS support EU GMP Annex 1 requirements?
HDLIMS provides the capabilities Annex 1 expects from an environmental monitoring program, including risk-based sampling plans, alert and action limits, trending, organism identification and investigation of excursions, and supports documentation of your contamination control strategy. Compliance itself depends on how your program is designed and operated.
Can samplers collect data offline?
Yes. The mobile collection app can operate with intermittent connectivity inside cleanrooms and synchronizes securely when a connection is available.
Can we monitor water and utilities too?
Yes. Purified water, water for injection, compressed gases and clean steam programs are managed with the same planning, limits and trending tools.
