Food & beverage quality and safety

Food safety testing, from plant floor to positive release

HDLIMS connects plant QC labs, central labs and contract labs in one system, so holds, results and releases follow the same rules at every site, and your HACCP and food safety plans have verified data behind them.

The challenge

The challenges we hear most

01

Product waits on micro

Finished goods sit on hold for pathogen and indicator results, and every hour spent chasing results or paperwork costs warehouse space and shelf life.

02

Every plant does it differently

Each site keeps its own spreadsheets, specs and sampling plans, so corporate quality can’t compare performance or roll out a method change consistently.

03

Supplier CoAs go unchecked

Incoming ingredient certificates are filed rather than evaluated, and verification testing against supplier claims happens when someone remembers.

04

Audits mean digging

GFSI audits, customer audits and FDA inspections ask for environmental monitoring trends, corrective actions and traceability exercises on short notice.

Capabilities

How HDLIMS supports Food & Beverage

Preconfigured workflows, terminology and reports for your industry, on the same unified platform.

Hold and positive release

Lots are held automatically until every required test passes, then released to ERP; failures route to disposition with full traceability.

Microbiology workflows

Plate counts, dilution calculations, presumptive and confirmed results, and pathogen escalation for Listeria, Salmonella and STEC testing.

Pathogen environmental monitoring

Zone 1–4 sampling plans, swab site maps, vector swabbing after positives and trend reports for your environmental monitoring program.

Allergen control

Track allergen profiles by product and line, schedule changeover verification, and record ATP and allergen swab results against each changeover.

Supplier CoA verification

Capture supplier certificates against ingredient specifications, flag discrepancies, and schedule skip-lot verification testing by supplier risk.

Shelf-life studies

Plan storage conditions and pull points, record sensory, micro and chemistry results, and base date-code decisions on trend data.

Workflow

From incoming ingredient to released lot

  1. 1

    Receive

Ingredient lots are logged with supplier CoAs and checked against specifications before use.

  2. 2

    Monitor

In-process checks and environmental swabs follow scheduled plans by line, shift and zone.

  3. 3

    Test

Finished product is tested for micro, chemistry and allergens, with results evaluated against product specs.

  4. 4

    Hold

Lots stay on hold until required results are in; presumptive positives trigger escalation and confirmation.

  5. 5

    Release

Passing lots are released to ERP, and CoAs are generated for customers who require them.

Regulations & standards

Designed to support your compliance program

HDLIMS provides the technical controls and records these frameworks call for. Compliance remains a property of how your lab configures and operates the system, and our validation package helps you demonstrate it.

FAQ

Food & Beverage: frequently asked questions

Can HDLIMS manage positive release with our ERP?
Yes. Lots received or produced in ERP create samples and holds in HDLIMS automatically. When all required results pass, the release decision posts back to ERP; if any result fails, the lot stays blocked and routes to disposition. See Integrations.
Does HDLIMS support a pathogen environmental monitoring program?
Yes. You define zones, sites and rotation schedules, and HDLIMS generates swab lists, records results and tracks each positive through vector swabbing, corrective action and return to negative. Trend reports by zone and site support your FSMA preventive controls and GFSI scheme requirements. See Environmental Monitoring.
Can we run plant labs and a central lab in the same system?
Yes. Each site works with its own sampling plans, instruments and users, while specifications, methods and reporting are managed centrally. Samples sent from a plant to the central lab or a contract lab keep their identity and chain of custody end to end.
Is HDLIMS suitable for ISO/IEC 17025 accredited food labs?
Yes. HDLIMS is designed to support ISO/IEC 17025 requirements such as method validation records, measurement uncertainty, equipment calibration, proficiency testing and staff competence. See Compliance.
