Keep every grade on spec, every shift

HDLIMS runs the routine work of plant and product labs, from scheduled shift samples and grade-specific limits to live control charts and CoAs, and connects it to the historian and ERP your operations already depend on.

The challenge

The challenges we hear most

01

Results reach operators too late

When lab results travel by phone call or shared spreadsheet, operators adjust the process on stale data and off-spec material keeps flowing to tanks and silos.

02

Grades multiply specifications

Each grade, customer and region can carry its own limits. Keeping specs and CoA templates aligned by hand invites releases against the wrong limits.

03

Process and lab data never meet

Process conditions live in the historian and quality results live in the lab system, so correlating a property shift with a reactor change becomes a manual export exercise.

04

Customer audits and PPAP requests

Automotive and industrial customers expect control plans, capability studies and traceable CoAs on demand, under IATF 16949 and their own requirements.

Capabilities

How HDLIMS supports Chemicals & Materials

Preconfigured workflows, terminology and reports for your industry, on the same unified platform.

Shift-based sampling schedules

Recurring sample points by unit, tank and line generate samples automatically for each shift, with overdue alerts and shift handover views.

Grade and product specifications

Specifications by grade, customer and region, with internal, release and customer limits evaluated separately at result entry.

SPC and control charts

Live X-bar, individuals and moving-range charts with Western Electric or Nelson rules, plus Cpk and Ppk capability reports.

Historian and OPC UA integration

Exchange data with plant historians and control systems over OPC UA, so lab results reach the control room and process context reaches the lab.

Instrument capture

Collect results directly from GC, ICP, XRF, FTIR, titrators, viscometers and melt flow indexers, removing transcription from routine methods.

Automated CoAs

Generate grade- and customer-specific certificates of analysis from approved results and send them with the shipment through ERP.

Workflow

From scheduled sample to shipped CoA

  1. 1

    Schedule

Sampling plans create samples for each unit, tank or line, with labels ready at the start of every shift.

  2. 2

    Test

Analysts run methods with instrument results captured directly and evaluated against the active grade spec.

  3. 3

    Chart

Results plot on control charts as they are approved; rule violations alert the lab and the control room.

  4. 4

    Disposition

Off-spec lots are held, regraded or reblended, with the decision and rationale recorded.

  5. 5

    Certify

Approved results generate the CoA, which ships with the load and posts to ERP.

Regulations & standards

Designed to support your compliance program

HDLIMS provides the technical controls and records these frameworks call for. Compliance remains a property of how your lab configures and operates the system, and our validation package helps you demonstrate it.

FAQ

Chemicals & Materials: frequently asked questions

Can HDLIMS connect to our plant historian?
Yes. HDLIMS exchanges data with historians and control systems over OPC UA and APIs, so approved results can be written to historian tags for operators and process values can be pulled in alongside each sample. See Integrations.
How are grade-specific and customer-specific limits handled?
Each grade can have internal control limits, release limits and any number of customer-specific limits. HDLIMS evaluates all of them at result entry, so a lot that meets release spec but fails a customer limit is flagged before it is allocated or shipped.
Does HDLIMS include SPC?
Yes. Control charts update as results are approved, with configurable rules for trends, shifts and out-of-control points, and capability indices for any test and grade. See Analytics.
Can a plant lab without dedicated IT staff run HDLIMS?
Yes. HDLIMS is cloud-hosted, so there are no LIMS servers to maintain on site. Instrument and OPC UA connections run through lightweight integration agents, and lab administrators add new grades, sample points and specifications through configuration rather than code.
